Books have the power to open minds, spark imagination, and create opportunities that can change lives. For many children from underserved communities, however, access to books and quality learning materials remains limited. Through meaningful partnerships, organizations can help bridge this gap and ensure that every child has the opportunity to discover the joy of reading.
One such initiative is the WNS Mobile Library, a literacy program supported by the WNS Cares Foundation (WCF) in partnership with Childhope Philippines. By bringing books and interactive learning activities directly to children and schools, the program continues to promote literacy, encourage lifelong learning, and inspire young readers to dream beyond their circumstances.
What Is WNS Cares Foundation?
The WNS Cares Foundation (WCF) is the corporate social responsibility arm of WNS Global Services, a global business process management company. The foundation focuses on creating positive social impact by supporting education, community development, environmental sustainability, and livelihood initiatives across the countries where WNS operates.
In the Philippines, WNS Cares Foundation partners with organizations such as Childhope Philippines to implement programs that improve educational access and create safe learning opportunities for children in vulnerable communities. Through these collaborations, the foundation helps provide books, educational materials, and engaging learning experiences that encourage children to continue learning despite difficult circumstances.
Bringing Learning Beyond the Classroom
The WNS Mobile Library is more than a traveling collection of books.
It is an outreach program that brings reading materials, storytelling sessions, educational games, and interactive literacy activities directly to children who may have limited access to libraries and educational resources. By taking learning into communities, public spaces, and schools, the initiative creates opportunities for children to strengthen their reading, comprehension, communication, and critical thinking skills.
In partnership with Childhope Philippines, the mobile library serves children in street situations, marginalized communities, and public schools, providing them with enjoyable and meaningful learning experiences that nurture both academic growth and self-confidence.
Continuing Literacy Through WIKAHON Learning Sessions
On June 26, 2026, Childhope Philippines conducted another successful WNS Mobile Library session in Lawton, Manila, where 13 children participated in the activity.
The session continued the organization’s WIKAHON Pre-A and A learning classes, providing children with engaging literacy exercises designed to improve reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and language proficiency.
Through storytelling, guided reading activities, educational games, and interactive discussions, participants were encouraged to actively explore books while developing important literacy skills in a supportive learning environment.
Beyond improving reading abilities, the activity also fostered curiosity, creativity, and confidence among the children—qualities that are essential for lifelong learning.
The session reflects Childhope Philippines’ commitment to ensuring that children in street situations receive consistent educational support that complements the organization’s broader Street Education and Protection (STEP) Program.

Inspiring Students at the Opening of School Year 2026–2027
The WNS Mobile Library was also featured during the opening of School Year 2026–2027 at Jose Abad Santos High School.
As part of the school’s freshmen orientation and campus tour, students were welcomed into an engaging mobile library experience that introduced them to the exciting world of books and reading.
Learners explored a wide variety of reading materials while participating in interactive activities designed to encourage curiosity and imagination. The event aimed to foster a positive reading culture from the very beginning of the academic year, reminding students that reading is not only an educational requirement but also an enjoyable lifelong habit.
By introducing young learners to accessible and engaging reading resources, the activity helped create an inspiring start to their high school journey.
Why Mobile Libraries Matter
For many children from underserved communities, access to books remains one of the greatest barriers to literacy.
Traditional libraries may not always be accessible due to financial limitations, transportation challenges, or the absence of nearby learning facilities. Mobile libraries help address these gaps by bringing educational resources directly to the communities that need them most.
Programs like the WNS Mobile Library provide several important benefits:
- Improve children’s reading comprehension and language development.
- Encourage creativity, imagination, and independent learning.
- Build confidence through interactive educational activities.
- Foster positive attitudes toward education and lifelong learning.
- Create safe and welcoming spaces where children can learn and grow.
For children in street situations, these opportunities are especially valuable. Literacy not only improves academic performance but also equips them with knowledge and skills that can help break the cycle of poverty.
A Partnership That Creates Lasting Impact
The collaboration between WNS Cares Foundation and Childhope Philippines demonstrates how partnerships can create meaningful and lasting change.
While Childhope continues its mission of protecting, educating, and empowering children in street situations, WNS Cares Foundation strengthens these efforts by supporting initiatives that expand children’s access to quality educational experiences.
Together, both organizations are helping build communities where learning is accessible, engaging, and inclusive—regardless of a child’s circumstances.
Every Mobile Library session represents another opportunity for children to discover new stories, build new skills, and imagine brighter futures for themselves.
