MusiKalye 2025: A Decade of Celebrating Children’s Voices

Childhope Philippines proudly concluded MusiKalye 2025, marking its 10th anniversary as a platform that empowers children to express their creativity, talent, and confidence. Held as part of the National Children’s Month celebrations, this year’s event brought together children, volunteers, partners, and supporters to celebrate artistry, resilience, and hope.

From music and dance to theatre and performance, MusiKalye has always championed children’s right to be heard and seen. This milestone reaffirmed Childhope’s commitment to providing safe, supportive spaces for children, particularly those from street communities, to explore their potential and showcase their gifts to the world.

Empowering Young Performers Through Skill Development

A key highlight of MusiKalye 2025 was the opportunity for children to develop new skills and gain hands-on experience in preparation for their performances. The event was made possible by the generous support of partners and sponsors, including:

  • LSEG – Mr. Wilson Tajonera, who provided the trophies that recognized participants’ efforts
  • CBRE – Procurement as a Service (PAAS) Business Unit, which ensured participants were well-fed throughout rehearsals and the event day
  • CSS United of TELUS Digital, which provided snacks and loot bags for the performers.
  • DLS-CSB, the venue partner that hosted the event
  • Mr. Noel Macadangdang, who ensured high-quality live coverage for both onsite and online audiences

Additionally, LSEG Foundation, Mace Foundation, and Transurban-Australia contributed Skills Development grants, enabling children to attend workshops, training sessions, and rehearsal schedules that prepared them for the final performances. These grants also provided tools, instruments, and materials that helped children enhance their craft, ensuring every act reflected dedication, creativity, and effort.

Childhope’s team played a crucial role behind the scenes, with the Deputy Executive Director, Ms. Mylene Lagman, leading a collaborative effort across the Resource Mobilization Unit, Program Team, Accounting, Admin, and KalyEskwela pilots. The event also benefited from the commitment of BS Social Work student-interns from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Valenzuela, Philippine Christian University, and the University of the Philippines. Their work included coordination, rehearsal assistance, and logistical support, ensuring the event ran smoothly from day one to the final performance.

A Celebration of Community and Collaboration

MusiKalye 2025 was more than a showcase of talent—it was a celebration of community and collaboration. The event brought together stakeholders from various sectors, including corporate partners, educational institutions, local communities, and families, all contributing to a shared goal: giving children the chance to shine.

Performances were delivered by seven youth groups, each representing different street communities and Childhope programs. The Childhope Choir and LAYT members added a professional touch to the performances, and the event was expertly hosted by Denise, Jana, and Danny. Each performance not only demonstrated skill and artistry but also told a story of resilience, hope, and self-expression.

The presence of supporters like judges, the Vice Chairman, and media personalities provided encouragement to participants and strengthened the community aspect of the event. Recognizing and celebrating children in front of a wider audience affirms their value and potential, giving them a sense of achievement and belonging.

Celebrity Messages and Endorsements

A unique feature of MusiKalye 2025 was the involvement of celebrity advocates, whose messages inspired and motivated the young performers. Ely Buendia, a renowned musician, sent a special video message of encouragement that boosted the children’s confidence and added a celebratory tone to the event. His support was particularly meaningful for the 10th anniversary, marking a first-time collaboration that created lasting memories for participants and organizers alike.

Lovi Poe, Childhope’s Ambassador of Hope since 2018, also extended her support from afar. Her heartfelt message acknowledged the children’s efforts and celebrated their creativity, reminding them that their talents were valued and appreciated. Such endorsements reinforce the message that the community, both locally and nationally, stands behind these young performers.

MusiKalye 2025 Goes Digital: A New Fundraising Initiative

In line with modern engagement and fundraising strategies, MusiKalye 2025 introduced an innovative digital initiative in collaboration with Ely Buendia. This project, dubbed as “interrupted music video to donate,” combined entertainment with advocacy, giving audiences a chance to support the children directly.

This approach allowed audiences to engage actively, transforming passive viewing into meaningful participation. Donations collected through this initiative support skills development programs, workshops, and performance opportunities for children, further amplifying the impact of MusiKalye beyond the event itself.

Gratitude and Appreciation to All Who Support Musikalye 2025

Childhope Philippines extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to MusiKalye 2025. From partners and sponsors to staff, volunteers, families, and supporters, every contribution played a crucial role in the event’s success.

The event also celebrated the children themselves—their courage, talent, and determination. MusiKalye is a reminder that every child has a voice that deserves to be heard, and every effort invested in nurturing that voice can have a profound, lasting impact.

Celebrate MusiKalye 2025 by Donating to Watch Ely’s Music Video

MusiKalye 2025 showcased the incredible talent, creativity, and resilience of street children—but the celebration doesn’t have to end with the performances. This Christmas, Ely Buendia has partnered with Childhope to bring you #ElyChristmas, a way to continue supporting these young performers.

By donating, you unlock the full animated music video “Bulaklak sa Buwan” and help provide street children with access to education, daily care, and creative opportunities; extending the MusiKalye experience beyond the stage. Your contribution ensures that the children who performed, rehearsed, and dreamed during MusiKalye 2025 can continue growing, learning, and creating.

Make this festive season truly meaningful: celebrate MusiKalye 2025, enjoy Ely’s music, and give children in street situations the gift of hope.
