I’d like to give thanks to Childhope Philippines Foundation, Inc. for inspiring me and my mother to bring smiles to street children and their families with Carbonara treats, and I’d like to give thanks to Childhope Philippines Foundation, Inc. for bringing smiles to street children and their families all year round.

As I turn a corner onto the bustling streets, I see them: the street children and their families. I can’t help but smile at the beauty of it all that cannot be measured in material possessions. They are the most beautiful people in my eyes. In a symphony of life, in ordinary moments, their stories are told. In their chatter, I can hear the notes of joy that sing out from their souls and that harp every day, if we only take the time to listen. It’s an honor to share their stories with the world, to let their symphony of life be heard and appreciated, even in the most unexpected places. I can’t help but feel the truth in the words of how it’s an honor to preserve the dignity of these street children and their families and to educate generations on the value of preserving their dignity, regardless of their humble beginnings. The stories of these street children and their families inspire us to spread love and compassion wherever we go. They remind me that no matter whom we are or no matter how humble our beginnings are, we all deserve to be treated with respect and dignity.

As I stand there, a poem fills my heart as though a song was beginning to hum in my ears, gently unfolding in my mind to be set free.

“In bustling streets, I turn a corner,
And witness the beauty, like no other.
The street children and their families,
Their stories of life are told in symphonies.

In moments, ordinary and mundane,
Their chatter brings a joyful refrain.
From their souls, notes of joy harp and sing,
If only we listen, to the music they bring.

These beautiful people, the street children, and their kin,
In their eyes, we see the truth, a spirit that shines within.
We are reminded, that material thing pale in comparison,
To the love and compassion we can show, a true legacy they bring.

Their stories remind us to spread love,
To all beings, near and far above.
No matter how low or high we begin,
We all deserve respect, free from any stain.

These children inspire us to be kind,
Compassionate and gentle, in our mind.
Their beauty cannot be measured,
In material possessions, but in treasures.

In a symphony of life, their stories unfold,
Ordinary moments, tales to be told.
The chatter in the air, notes of joy,
Harps strumming, the soul’s sweetest ploy.”

As I watch them go about their day and as I continue on my journey through the bustling streets, I am filled with a sense of wonder and gratitude. “How fortunate I am to witness their symphony of life, to hear their stories, and to be moved by their spirit.”, I think to myself. It is a privilege and an honor to be able to share their voices with the world, preserve their dignity, and inspire others to do the same.

Just as a person might chop and prepare their ingredients for a nutritious meal, I carefully choose my ingredients, and in this case, my ingredients are the words that are meaningful to the reader. Just as my mother and I are mindful of the presentation and arrangement of the Carbonara dish we bring to these street children and their families, my goal is to create a fulfilling and meaningful writing for all to preserve the dignity of these children and their families for generations to come.

Additional note:

The ingredients for the Carbonara dish that my mother and I prepared for the street children and their families are shown in the photo.
