The Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region (DSWD-NCR), through the Field Office Standards Section, successfully conducted the Area-BasedStandards Network (ABSNet) Election of Officers on 29 October 2025 at the RehabilitationSheltered Workshop in Project 4, Quezon City.
ABSNet is a mechanisms of the DSWD that brings together licensed and accredited Social Welfare and Development Agencies (SWDAs) operating within NCR. It serves as a platform that fosters networking, coordination, advocacy, and mutual support among NGOs and foundations delivering social protection programs. Its objectives include: Strengthening partnerships between DSWD and CSOs;
Promoting compliance with social welfare laws and standards;
Enhancing collaboration and resource sharing among member agencies;
Improving case management and service delivery for vulnerable children, youth, families, and communities.
The election was attended by ABSNet member organizations from across NCR, together with the officers of the outgoing committee. Also present were NCR Regional Director Mr. Michael Joseph Lorico, Ms. Ladylene from the Standards Section, and the Secretariat and technical staff of FO-NCR headed by Ms. Chorrie Lou-An F. Digneneng, who facilitated the proceedings.
After nominations and voting, the following were elected as the new set of ABSNet NCR Officers for 2025–2027:
- Chairman – Childhope Philippines Foundation, Inc.
- Vice Chairman – White Cross
- Secretary – Joy Nostalg Foundation
- Committee on Policy and Review – UP Medical Foundation
- Committee on Capacity Building – Children International Philippines
- Committee on Communication & Membership – Pilipinas Shell Foundation
The ceremony concluded with message of support and commitment to strengthen coordination and innovation within the network, ensuring that services for vulnerable sectors remain effective, responsive, and aligned with DSWD standards.
